Popmoney® personal payment service lets you send money to friends, family, or anyone within the U.S. All you need is their name and email address or mobile phone number to transfer money from your bank account to theirs. With Popmoney, you can also request money, so people who owe you money can pay you – fast!

How does it work?

Popmoney allows you to send and receive money through WGSB’s internet and mobile banking service. You can send money to contacts you set up, and they will be notified by email or text message that you wish to send money to them. You and your contacts will never need to exchange financial account information.

Now 3 ways to Send Money*

  • Standard Payments (via email or mobile phone): 3 business days after the payment is sent {Cutoff time is 1:00am EST}
  • Next Day Payments (via email or mobile phone): 1 business day after the payment is sent {Cutoff time is 10:00pm EST}
  • Instant Payments** (via debit card): Same day {Real-time; available 24/7}

Delivery times assume that the recipient is already enrolled in Popmoney (through their bank or through Popmoney.com), and has the Automatic Deposit feature turned on. If the recipient is not enrolled in Popmoney and/or does not have Automatic Deposit on, they will need to log in to specify the deposit account before the funds can be deposited.

**Popmoney Instant Payments only available for debit cards within the Accel or STAR payment networks. Instant Payment instructions may not be canceled because they are processed immediately.

What is Automatic Deposit?

Automatic Deposit is the easiest and fastest way to receive money. It allows you to designate one account into which all incoming payments will be automatically deposited. Once turned on, there’s nothing more for you to do. You will be notified of an incoming payment via email or text message, and the payment will be sent directly to your selected account. You can edit Automatic Deposit settings anytime in Preferences. 

What can you use Popmoney for?

Popmoney is easy and convenient for you and the people you send money to. Recipients can receive money in their eligible account online (if their financial institution is a member of the Popmoney network), or at Popmoney.com, saving them a trip to the bank.

Use Popmoney to:

  • Send money to your child at college
  • Send a gift to family or friends
  • Pay back friends for a fun outing
  • Pay your babysitter or lawn care service
  • Pay rent to your landlord or roommates


What does it cost?

The fee to Send Money is based on the delivery speed of the money being sent.

  • Fee for 3-Day delivery: $0.00
  • Fee for Next Day delivery: $1.00
  • Fee for Instant Payments: $3.00

There is no charge to the receiver of the funds.

You must be enrolled in GOLD internet banking or mobile banking, and be enrolled in eZ Pay Bill Payment Service to access Popmoney.

Already enrolled in GOLD and eZ Pay Bill Payment? It’s just as easy to use Popmoney.

  1. Log in to GOLD internet or mobile banking.
  2. Go to your eZ Pay Bill Payment Center by clicking on ‘Advanced Bill Pay’ from the bill pay area on the home page.
  3. Click on the ‘Popmoney’ tab.

The first time you visit Popmoney, you will be asked to enter your debit card number to enable Instant Payments. We encourage you to provide this information at this time.

Need to enroll in eZ Pay Bill Payment?

  1. Log in to GOLD internet banking.
  2. Select your checking account that you wish to use to pay bills (and people). 
  3. Click on the ‘eZ Pay’ link, and follow the prompts to enroll in bill pay.
  4. Click on the ‘Popmoney’ tab.
